This afternoon a crowd of about 40 people were greatly entertained with a rare performance of the entire Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano by Claude Bolling, written in 1975. This was accompanied by a description of each section by Roberta, which always adds such a satisfying spice to a listening experience. Where can you come to see music like this played live and literally only a few feet away. This is such a long and complex piece, which alone is a very satisfying journey to take. But also the listening communication between the two musicians permiates the entire experience as one watches and listens, which adds an entire extra level of complexity and wonderment. What a pleasure this was.
